Pitchfork note that in the new version of “Smoke”, Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes raps about the loss of his friend Mac Miller, who died in September this year: “I couldn’t even prepare for the loss, what could I do but cry?” Hynes and Miller previously worked together on songs like “Self-Care”. The rap starts at 3m35s. Yves Tumor is currently supporting Blood Orange on tour, while Ian Isiah is a member of Hynes’s touring band and also contributed to Negro Swan. Listen to the remix below.
