Tributes are pouring in for the Pittsburgh rapper
Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller has died at the age of 26, TMZ reports.
Miller was reportedly found at his home in the afternoon of Friday, September 7, and pronounced dead at the scene. TMZ claims that he passed away of an apparent overdose.
Growing up in Pennsylvania, Miller began releasing rap mixtapes from the age of 15, and he held on to that independent and self-driven ethos throughout his career. It was his mixtapes that brought him to online fame between 2010 and 2011; he released his debut album Blue Slide Park in July 2011.
Miller was known for his introspective and brutally honest style, and his latest album Swimming – released August 2018 – was one of his most personal yet.
He was also noted as a producer, often working under the moniker Larry Fisherman. Throughout his prolific career he collaborated with Anderson.Paak, Ty Dolla Sign, Ariana Grande, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Kendrick Lamar, and many more.
Tributes are pouring in for Miller from across the music and entertainment industry, many of them noting what a warm, kind, and open person he was.
Rest in peace.
Rest in your peace Mac Miller.
