Cardi B reflects on motherhood and a year of success on new song ‘Money’

The rapper is back with her first solo release since debut album Invasion of Privacy

Cardi B has dropped a new track, “Money”, her first solo release since her debut album Invasion of Privacy came out earlier this year.

On “Money”, Cardi reflects on her success over the past year, and raps about her recent motherhood (“I got a baby, I need some money”). There’s also a Black Panther reference: “Wakanda forever!”

The rapper first teased new music back in August, telling fans on Instagram Live that she wanted to release a few songs that didn’t fit the vibe of Invasion of Privacy, but she was “missing like four or five songs” from the release. Although she teased a September 1 release date, it had to move due to her workload.

Earlier this month, Cardi B was arrested and charged over an alleged fight in a strip club. She was accused of ordering members of her entourage to attack two bartenders at a Queens strip club. She is scheduled to be arrainged on October 29.
