David Bowie already covered Iggy’s tune (from the 1981 Party album) on 1987’s Never Let Me Down, but this version features new production, string arrangements (by Nico Muhly), and a guest appearance from American artist Laurie Anderson. It will feature on the upcoming Bowie boxset Loving the Alien, out October 21. Following the song, Iggy Pop expressed his approval and said he “thought it was a really good reading of the lyric”.
