This weekend, Drake ended his long-running beef with Meek Mill. At the Boston leg of his Aubrey & the Three Migos tour, the Canadian rapper brought out Meek Mill to perform his song “Dreams and Nightmares”, ending a three-year feud – stemming from Drizzy’s alleged use of a ghostwriter – that brought us such wonderful, definitely-not-clunky lines as “Tell Obama that my verses are just like the whips that he in / They bulletproof.”

“We need more peace in the world, we need more love in the world,” Drake said on-stage. “Meek Mill, that’s my brother, that’s my n***a from day one. So we were able to day this tonight in front of y’all and I’m very honoured you were here to witness it. Thank you to Meek Mill and all his Dreamchasers family for coming to Boston.”

Drake expanded on his feelings in an Instagram post after the show. “This really gave me peace of mind tonight,” he wrote. “Healing and moving forward created one of the most electric and gratifying moments of my career.”

He added: “I’m happy that you are home and that we could find our way back to our joint purpose.” Being “home”, in this case, refers to Meek Mill’s incredibly unjust prison sentence, in which the rapper was set to serve two to four years for breaking his probation – despite the fact that the charges against him were dropped and that prosecutors did not recommend jail time, and despite the fact that he had been on probation for a decade. In the end, Meek Mill only served five months of the sentence due to credibility concerns of the witnesses.
