The On the Run II tour looks like it got off to a great start as clips quickly circulated online of Beyoncé (and her husband) during the Cardiff debut of the show last night (June 6). The pair performed their joint classics “Drunk in Love,” “Crazy in Love,” and “‘03 Bonnie & Clyde” and showed lots of archive video footage of the past few years in the Knowles-Carter household.
One of the standout moments from the night was that the Beyhive believed they had finally got to see some exclusive footage of the singer’s twins. Visual interludes throughout the performance included Jay-Z and Beyoncé stood proudly holding two babies with a sign that read: “LOVE NEVER CHANGES,” in what seems to be a nod to the rounds of controversy surrounding the couple and Jay-Z’s well documented infidelities.
There haven’t been many sightings of them other than the now-famous Instagram shot of her holding the twins in front of a wall of flowers. So obviously fans took to Twitter and Instagram to express their joy.
However, Beyoncé’s reps told Buzzfeed that the twins pictured in the segment aren’t actually her twins. When asked whether the pictures circulating really were images of them holding Rumi and Sir Carter they simply replied: “It’s not”, leading us to ask the pertinent question: whose children are they?
While you’re left scratching your head, there are a lot of touching moments from the performance, including a scene where the pair appear to be renewing their vows (which may include quick glances of her actual babies), and a heavily pregnant Beyoncé twirling with Jay-Z on a dancefloor. The European leg of the show will run through July before Bey and Jay jet over to North America for their first US date in Cleveland, Ohio. They’ll be joined by DJ Khaled and Chloe x Halle as support.
