Pride month has just kicked off and to mark the occasion artists are gathering together to unite with one goal: inclusivity. New York City-based creative agency Offline Projects is hosting a series of music and art workshops for and by the city’s LGBTQ+ community.
INTERLUDE+ is an initiative of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, in partnership with New York is Music, and forms part of the ‘Music Month’ taking place in the city to honour its rich music industry throughout June. The initiative is dedicated to fostering unique collaborations and connecting people with diverse backgrounds and perspectives by hosting a programme that is led by influential artists and musicians. The festivities include a block BBQ, a production and sampling workshop and a lecture about VR film work and cinema.
Last year, the series featured Dev Hynes and this year the impressive roster includes BATHS, Andrew Thomas Huang, Cakes Da Killa, Ms.Boogie and more.
For its second year, the program continues to further its initiative to support and bring together the LGBTQ+ community through curated events. “We are so excited to be partnering for the second year with the Mayor’s Office on INTERLUDE+, which perfectly captures the core belief of Offline Projects—that music has the power to educate, connect, and inspire,” said Sienna Beritto, Executive Producer at Offline Projects.
Despite Trump's malicious efforts to continue to discriminate against the LGBTQ+ community by limiting their rights, these programs place importance on inspiring and connecting with marginalised communities.
