St. Vincent took to Instagram last night to announce that jazz duo Tuck & Patti, who happen to be her uncle and aunt, will be joining as a support act on her North American Fear the Future tour.
It’s a neatly cyclical move; the duo brought Annie Clark on tour with them when she was only a teenager, encouraging the American songwriter’s career as a musician. Before she went to college, Clark also road managed one of their European tours.
The married couple performed on multiple songs from St. Vincent’s new record MASSEDUCTION, including the single “Los Ageless”. In the announcement, Clark described them as “an acclaimed duo who have been touching people’s hearts worldwide for three decades”.
The tour began in August in Tokyo, followed by three UK and Irish dates, a small leg in Europe, landing now right in the middle of its lengthy U.S streak of shows.
Read back on our exploration of MASSEDUCTION here, and how St. Vincent’s album challenges long-held conventions around female queerness and glam rock alike.
