Glass wrote a horrifying account of years spent with her former Crystal Castles bandmate, detailing allegations of physical, emotional and sexual abuse. “Claudio was very manipulative towards me,” she wrote back in October. “Over a period of many months, he gave me drugs and alcohol and had sex with me in an abandoned room at an apartment he managed. It wasn’t always consensual….” The musician posted a photo of the court summons on Twitter, which says she is “being sued by plaintiff Claudio Palmieri AKA Ethan Kath”. She wrote on Twitter: “Just got served after my show in Chicago by someone pretending to be a fan. Lol see you in court asshole.” Kath filed a defamation lawsuit, and in a statement said she was lying and “still bitter about breaking up”, as well as claiming she left because of substance abuse and mental health issues. Kath asserted that it was Glass’ plan to ruin him financially. His lawsuit claims he lost $300,000 in profits from a cancelled tour. Glass left Crystal Castles in 2014, at the time stating that she departed “for a multitude of reasons both professional and personal I no longer feel that this is possible within CC.” Solidarity with Alice Glass and all survivors fighting battles to be heard.
