Originally slated for a release this Monday, the song appeared on streaming services at midnight this morning (September 15). A limited edition 12” vinyl version is available via Björk’s label One Little Indian’s webstore. The music video for the song – a collaboration between Björk, Andrew Thomas Huang, Gucci’s Alessandro Michele, and James Merry – is screening as part of London Fashion Week for free this weekend, from 10am-6pm at The Store Studios. Björk – Autumn 2017 Speaking about the music video in Dazed’s cover story with Björk, director Andrew Thomas Huang described the song and its relationship to the album: “‘The Gate’ is essentially a love song, but I say ‘love’ in a more transcendent way. Vulnicura was about a very personal loss, and I think this new album is about a love that’s even greater. It’s about rediscovering love – but in a spiritual way, for lack of a better word.” Listen to “The Gate” below, and read its lyrics after the jump. my healed chestwoundtransformed into a gatewhere i receive love fromwhere i give love fromand icare for youi care for yousplit into many partssplattered light beams into prismsthat will reuniteif youcare for meand then ill care for youdidnt used to be so needyjust more broken than normalproud self sufficiencymy silhouette is ovalit is a gatei cancare for you fromi care for youyou care for me Expand your creative community and connect with 15,000 creatives from around the world.READ MOREListen to our shadowy Dazed Winter 2025 playlist7 of Chase Infiniti’s favourite K-pop tracks Jean Paul GaultierJean Paul Gaultier’s iconic Le Male is the gift that keeps on givingMeet The Deep, K-pop’s antihero ‘This is our Nirvana!’: Are Geese Gen Z’s first great rock band?10 of Yung Lean’s best collabs‘We’re like brother and sister’: Yung Lean and Charli xcx in conversationIs art finally getting challenging again? The only tracks you need to hear from November 2025Inside the world of Amore, Spain’s latest rising starLella Fadda is blazing a trail in the Egyptian music sceneThe rise of Sweden’s post-pop underground
