And according to a new interview, Hewlett has been working on a 10-episode TV series for Gorillaz. Speaking to Q Magazine, the animator confirmed plans for the venture, as well as new artwork, tour merchandise, a clothing line and visuals. He added that there were “other things he never imagined when Gorillaz was born.” As Q reports in their cover story, Gorillaz also reveal some of the artists who passed on contributing to the new album. While Humanz includes the likes of Noel Gallagher, Grace Jones, Kali Uchis and Pusha T, apparently Sade, Morrissey and Dionne Warwick didn’t want to collab. Gorillaz have so far revealed five songs from the album, dropping at the end of April, including collaborations with Pusha T, Mavis Staples, Popcaan, Jehnny Beth of Savages, and Noel Gallagher. h/t Consequence of Sound Escape the algorithm!
