Thank You 4 Your Service just two weeks after the group’s Q-Tip announced it. The 16-track album – their first in 18 years – features a plethora of guest appearances from hip hop and beyond, including Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, and Jack White. The album harks back to the iconic NYC hip hop group’s defining sound, but combines it with the voices of Busta Rhymes and Consequence, who stand in for late band member Phife Dawg. Speaking about how the band regrouped without one of their key members, Q-Tip told Rolling Stone, “We spoke about it at length, (Phife) and I, about the importance of maintaining the essence (of A Tribe Called Quest) but not getting trapped in that and trying to see beyond it.” Listen to the album below.
