Taking place on October 17, their visit to London will, at the time of writing, be the Californians’ only date outside of the United States on a mini tour running from September to November. Revered for their genre-defying mix of noise, punk and rap, the experimental hip hop group originally made waves by leaking their own album and smashing up their equipment, garnering admiration from Tyler, The Creator, the late David Bowie and ex-porn actress Sasha Grey along the way. They announced their intention to split via a handwritten note on a napkin in 2014 but have since followed up with a steady stream of releases, including an instrumental EP and most recently surprise new album Bottomless Pit, which came out in May. Demand will massively outstrip the Shoreditch venue’s 1,000 capacity, so don’t sleep on tickets (on sale from 9am tomorrow) if you’re planning on catching MC Ride and Zach Hill’s lo-fi offerings in the flesh.
