First heard in a DJ set from Ed Banger Records head honcho Busy P earlier this week, “Safe and Sound” received its official premiere on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show earlier this evening. “Safe and Sound” is the duo’s first single since their second album Audio, Video, Disco was released in 2011. The song recalls the funky, melodic, disco-infused sound of earlier singles like “D.A.N.C.E.”, but it also retains the sort of proggy overtones of their last record.
