Although his band are currently in the middle of a massive tour promoting their ninth album A Moon Shaped Pool, Yorke was still able to fit in a 30-minute acoustic set at a neighbour’s garden party in Oxfordshire during some downtime. The news came from a Reddit user whose dad was at the party, as Consequence of Sound report. Although seemingly unaware of Radiohead’s music (or how to spell Yorke’s name), he still took the time to run around the party asking guests about the songs Yorke was playing. Screenshot via reddit.com/r/radiohead According to the Redditor, the 30-minute performance included versions of “Desert Island Disk”, “No Surprises”, “Street Spirit”, “Reckoner”, and “I Might Be Wrong”. There are no videos of the set online, but there is photo evidence showing Yorke playing to a very modest, seemingly uninterested crowd that proves that it did actually happen. This isn’t the first time Yorke has performed to bizarre audiences – a couple of years ago he played a surprise DJ set to a 30 person audience at a festival in Cornwall. Update: A video has surfaced of Thom Yorke playing “Reckoner”. Watch it below. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday.
