MusicNewsGhostpoet premieres his latest video ‘X Marks The Spot’If you responded to the London musician’s open call for art, now’s your chance to see if your submission made the cutShareLink copied ✔️March 13, 2015MusicNewsTextDazed Digital If you answered Ghostpoet and Topman's open call for art over social channels earlier this year, now might be your time to shine. At the beginning of February, we announced the London musician was putting out the creative feelers for submissions for his new music video "X Marks The Spot", directed by Unknown Artists. Enlisting the help of Topman and Dazed to help find some fresh talent, Dazed contributors, photographer Felix Cooper, digital artist and glitch fanatic Natalia Stuyk and Shanghai-based 3D artist Kim Laughton led the charge, sending in their own interpretations of the brief to kick things off. Now, premiering here today, Ghostpoet unveils the music video for the track – the second single off his third album Shedding Skin. Last week, Ghostpoet mashed up the tracks – from Aphex Twin to riot grrrl – inspiring his new album as we caught up on the #OpenShoot project. Speaking more about the process, he said: “It’s just been inspiring, not only for this video but going forward, seeing people’s different views on life, and the world, and music – in this instance, my music. Every new bit of knowledge and information you come across helps us as human beings, and I’m privileged to be able to see people creating work first hand. I guess I’m lucky to be able to witness talent first hand, and to play a small part inspiring other people’s work.” While the next #OpenShoot project is still under wraps, keep an eye on Topman.com for further announcements about how you can get involved.
