“Soft as Rain”, the lead single from Berlin-based songwriter Dan Bodan’s tender album Soft, paid tribute to a lover’s shower of touching, kissing, or cumming. But in the intimate video, Bodan’s private moment is with me, myself and I. A camera explores the terrain of what seems to be his own fuzzy chest, skirting around the nipple before panning into a laptop – where his face is shown in close-up, haivng as good a time as the dude in Warhol’s Blow Job. The video’s intercut with pinkish intertitles in a swirling pink typeface – speaking of moulding lines on a face with “residue” – but in the end, Bodan’s satisfied enough on his own.
