Music / First LookDaniel Avery – Drone LogicExclusive: The interior life of a woman is depicted in a disquieting video for the the dance artist's meshy trackShareLink copied ✔️March 21, 2014MusicFirst LookTextAimee Cliff As lush and sensual as it is steely and relentless, Daniel Avery’s 2013 debut album Drone Logic for Phantasy Sound is the result of years spent honing his techno grind on dancefloors. The pay-off can be heard all over the LP’s blistering five-minute lead single, the video exclusive of which we’re sharing below. Directed by Joshua Lipworth, the claustrophobic clip mirrors the track’s vibe of precisely controlled chaos by focusing entirely on a woman in her bedroom (aside from a mute cameo from Avery himself), putting on her shoes and walking to the mirror over and over again, in slightly different colours, shapes and moods. It’s as drone-like as it is strangely familiar, and all a little unsettling in the best kind of way. Drone Logic EP is out on March 24, including remixes from Factory Floor, Audion and Matt Walsh.
