Whilst you are taking notes though, you might as well take an additional note (a big note) that Ms. Mac will be playing at this year's Hideout Festival in Croatia. With her ever varied set lists, she'll be in good company with the line up ranging from 2manydjs and Erol Alkan to Shy FX and Ramadanman as well as Dazed's top boy Jamie xx. We are obliged to warn you however, that the YouTube clip she recommended is not suitable for those who are easily offended by painful dance moves... Can you recommend... ... three new acts? Julio Bashmore High Powered Boys Niki and the Doves ... three old acts? Stevie Wonder The Who Thin Lizzy ...a record label? I think Digital Soundboy are on fire at the moment. It’s always consistently good and exciting and it’s pretty representative of how great the UK music scene is at the moment. ... a film? The Fighter – It totally deserved all the awards and accolades it got. Really enjoyed it. ... a book? ‘Shantaram’ by Gregory David Roberts ... something on YouTube? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTzPbfZhdbI&feature=player_embedded ... a store/? There’s Start in Hoxton but for the opulent London experience it has to be Liberty. I could easily spend hours in there. ... a song that should be mandatorily listened to? Stevie Wonder – As, but it has to be the album version. It’s as soulful as they come and that album is probably my favourite. ... top festival tips? Babywipes. Torch. Food stash in tent.
