Here, under the Balearic sun, the infamous Elrow hosted the closing party for the iconic Amnesia. A celebration rebirthing energy into dance, the Dance with the Serpent theme debut created a euphoric sensory overload. No thought spared, the award-winning super club is transformed, taking the event to another level, for a night that was so much more than a few posters and some confetti cannons. ELROW FAMILY’S COLLABORATION WITH NYCHOS BEGINS Every year, the Elrow family collaborate with a new artist and this time it was the incredibly talented Austrian artist Nychos for The Dance with the Serpent. The concept centred around the fascinating realm of snakes, intersected with the tech-house soundscape, creating exciting rhythms and moments throughout the evening. Just before the event we spoke to Nychos and asked him why this collaboration just felt so right. “Dance is about immersing ourselves in a vibration that makes us happy, he said. “And happiness is the state of being that enables us to synchronise – with ourselves, our surroundings, and the great power of the universe.” A TRANSFORMATION TO THE SERPENT’S UNIVERSE Elrow transforms the space, astonishingly, in a matter of hours. There are huge hand-painted sculptures, a baby chicken inside of a giant chicken, snakes’ heads, banners, streamers, thousands of inflatable snake eggs to be released into the crowd. All of the once ‘on paper’ visions from Nychos are now 15ft works of art. By the time the evening came, the crowd had poured in. It was a whole trip: the eccentric performers that broke into the dance extended down into the crowd from the ceiling, while stilts actors jumped in from all angles. The full experience transported the crowd out of reality and into an imaginative state of exploration. TONY VARGA IS JOINED BY JORIS VOORN AND ADAM BEYER The line-up of iconic tech-house legends including Adam Beyer, Bastian Bux, Joris Voorn, Sarah Story and Toni Varga saw the room transform into movements that shed old layers of skin and created a new space displacing you out of time and reality, with handbuilt, vibrant structures and sculptures that brought the serpent to life. Brought to life with pyrotechnics, confetti and lights that fragment vision the distortion was music and dance eclipsed into a defiant moment in time. In December, the Arnau’s global brand will make its debut in the USA with the theme ‘Dance with the Serpent’ by artist NYCHOS. After the resounding success of its colossal show on the White Island last September 30, ‘Dance with the Serpent’ embarks on its maiden journey to the United States, featuring a magical tour with stops in three vibrant cities: New York, Miami and Chicago.
