In August, the activist travelled for 14 days via boat to the US to join record-breaking climate strikes and speak at the UN Climate Action Summit in New York, before heading to Chile for the COP25 conference. Writing on Twitter, Thunberg said: “As #COP25 has officially been moved from Santiago to Madrid I’ll need some help. It turns out I’ve travelled halfway around the world, the wrong way :) Now I need to find a way to cross the Atlantic in November… If anyone could help me find transport I would be so grateful.” As #COP25 has officially been moved from Santiago to Madrid I’ll need some help.It turns out I’ve traveled half around the world, the wrong way:)Now I need to find a way to cross the Atlantic in November... On Friday, Thunberg met Leonardo DiCaprio who posted a photo of the pair on Instagram. The caption read: “There are few times in human history where voices are amplified at such pivotal moments and in such transformational ways, but Greta Thunberg has become a leader of our time.” Last week, the teen also declined an environmental award from the Nordic Council, because “the climate movement does not need any more awards”. With just under a month to go until the COP25 conference, Thunberg has just a couple more weeks until she needs to set sail and return to Europe. Anyone with a boat in America: give her a call.
