Rihanna popped up at Sephora to celebrate Fenty Beauty’s first birthday

Following up on her NYFW success

It’s safe to say Rihanna’s been pretty busy as of late. In the last week alone she’s closed NYFW with her first Savage x Fenty show (where Slick Woods simultaneously walked and went into labour), held her fourth annual Diamond Ball (with a performance from Childish Gambino), and, on Friday, made a surprise appearance to celebrate Fenty Beauty’s first birthday.

While the glamorous Diamond Ball – a charity event for Rih’s Clara Lionel Foundation – was hosted by Insecure’s Issa Rae and saw appearances from comedian Seth Meyers, Tiffany Haddish, and Paris Hilton, the singer/designer’s arrival at Sephora in Brooklyn’s JCPenney for Fenty Beauty’s birthday was a slightly more low-key affair.

Shortly after announcing the surprise appearance from the back of her car on the way to the event, she stepped out in a bright pink Calvin Klein gown, taking centre stage and taking selfies with her fans. Ok, so not very low-key, but it’s about as reserved as a public celebration featuring Rihanna is going to get, isn’t it?
