While the trailer doesn’t give much away, it opens with Tesfaye answering the phone, saying, “Hello, angel”, followed by scenes of a scantily clad Depp strutting into a record label, dancing, and being greeted by fans. The series is co-directed by Euphoria showrunner Sam Levinson and The Weeknd. It also stars Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Blackpink’s Jennie, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennot, Hari Nef, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, Ramsey, Anne Heche and Hank Azaria. HBO has yet to announce a release date for the series but the trailer teases that it’ll be “coming soon”. Watch the trailer above. Escape the algorithm!
