Directed by Halina Reijn, the film follows a group of rich 20-somethings planning a hurricane party at a remote family mansion. They begin playing Bodies Bodies Bodies, a game reminiscent of IRL Cluedo, where one person pretends to kill another, while the others try and guess the suspect. This, as you can imagine, can only go so well – and it’s not long until there’s a real murderer on the loose. Featuring an original track courtesy of Charli XCX, the trailer shows the party rapidly escalating from slapping to sobbing to a full-blown murder mystery, as friends turns on each other via Gen Z accusations like ‘gaslighting’ and ‘you fucking trigger me’ that fire across the room like bullets. Initially premiering at SXSW earlier this year to rave reviews, A24’s Bodies Bodies Bodies will hit cinema screens on August 5. Watch the trailer below. Escape the algorithm!
