Megan Thee Stallion is set to take on her first-ever film role, starring in A24’s upcoming “musical comedy” Fucking Identical Twins.
The film, which co-stars Nathan Lane (who recently starred in Only Murders in the Building), SNL’s Bowen Yang, and Megan Mullaly, has been described as a “subversive” new take on The Parent Trap. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story concerns two rival businessmen who discover they are identical twin brothers, and hatch a scheme to switch places in the hope of reuniting their divorced parents.
Helmed by Borat director Larry Charles, the film is written by comedians Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp, with a script based on a two-man show which the pair staged in 2014. The film will be Megan Thee Stallion’s first major film role, although she has previously acted in YouTube series Hottieween. Commenting on her casting on Instagram, she wrote: “HOTTIES THIS IS OUR FIRST MOVIEEEE/ MUSICAL! WITH SOME MOVIE LEGENDS Im so excited i feel so blessed i feel anxious lol i feel a bunch of shit😂 I really have been quietly putting in this work and i just cant wait for the hotties to see everything 💙💙💙.”
It’s yet to be announced who Megan will be playing, or when the film will be released.
