The new Bones & All teaser shows Chalamet and his co-star, Taylor Russell, stopped at a remote gas station (take a look below). Notably, Chalamet is decked out in an outfit that could have been lifted right out of CMBYN, wearing denim shorts, an unbuttoned shirt, and the all-important chain (though his hair is now streaked red).
Now shooting in the Ohio tri-state area, the film is based on Camille DeAngelis’ 2015 novel of the same name and adapted by David Kajganich (who previously worked on A Bigger Splash and Suspiria). As described in an official synopsis, it tells “a story of first love between Maren (Russell), a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society, and Lee (Chalamet), an intense and disenfranchised drifter”.
“They meet and join together for a thousand-mile odyssey which takes them through the back roads, hidden passages, and trap doors of Ronald Reagan’s America. But despite their best efforts, all roads lead back to their terrifying pasts and to a final stand which will determine whether their love can survive their otherness.”
It also feels appropriate to mention that Maren struggles with cannibalistic urges, which could have something to do with her being a bit of an outsider.

Bones & All is Guadagnino’s first project to be shot on US soil, and he’s discussed getting to know the “beautiful and unseen” part of the country in an interview with Deadline. “I’ve been totally influenced by the American culture, American cinema, and now, American landscape,” he says. “So I’m very happy and proud that I’ve finally come to this shore.”
Unfortunately, the film might also have to fill in for the previously-confirmedCall Me By Your Name sequel, as Guadagnino appeared to suggest that it’s no longer happening last month.
