Earlier this week, Ziwe announced a new comedy series about scammers, titled The Nigerian Princess, fresh from the finale of her self-titled variety show for Showtime. Can’t wait that long? Well don’t worry, she’s got us covered there too, recently releasing the music from Ziwe to tide us over.

Titled Ziwe: A Famously Iconic Soundtrack, the release features some of the best moments from the late night series, including the slow, satirical ballad “Lisa Called the Cops”, and the uncomfortable commentary on how pop music infantilises women, “Wet Diaper (Goo Goo Gah Gah)”.

The soundtrack also treats us to collaborations with comedian and actor Patti Harrison — on “Stop Being Poor” and “Black Friends” — with Sam Taggart and Heléne York performing on “White Actor Blues”.

First airing in May, Ziwe saw the Desus & Mero writer smash ukeleles with Phoebe Bridgers, and ask Fran Lebowitz: “What percentage of white women do you hate?” In one segment, she also interviewed four IRL Karens (about speaking to the manager, obviously).

The Nigerian Princess, meanwhile, is set to follow Zoe, a “wise-beyond-her-years” graduate who partners up with a local con artist to make some cash, when faced with crippling student debt. The release date is yet to be confirmed.
