American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has unveiled the title for the upcoming tenth season of the show, making the announcement via an eerie Instagram teaser that shows waves breaking on a black and white beach.
“The title of AHS 10 is Double Feature,” the teaser reads. It also promises “two horrifying stories” told across one season: “One by the sea... one by the sand.”
Murphy has previously shared teaser images for AHS season 10, including a behind-the-scenes shot of Leslie Grossman and newcomer Macaulay Culkin, posing arm in arm on a beach in Provincetown, captioned: “Something wicked this way comes.” Fan favourites including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, and Billie Lourd are also set to make a return.
Last year, Murphy also announced a forthcoming American Horror Story spinoff series, similarly-titled American Horror Stories. The anthology series will be made up of 16, hour-long episodes, “delving into horror myths, legends and lore”. Ryan Murphy’s Pose, on the other hand, is set to end after its third season, as announced earlier this month. “We got to tell the exact story we wanted, as we wanted to tell it,” says Murphy of the groundbreaking series about Harlem’s underground ball culture. “And I’m incredibly honored and grateful.” The show was revolutionary for its representation of LGBTQ+ characters and record-breaking cast of trans actors.
