Dakota Johnson joins the cast for Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling

Florence Pugh and Shia LaBeouf have already been confirmed to star

Last month, Olivia Wilde’s follow-up to her directorial debut, Booksmart, was announced, along with starring roles for Florence Pugh and Shia LaBeouf. Now, Dakota Johnson has also joined the Don’t Worry Darling cast.

Unfortunately, Johnson – who also starred in Luca Guadagnino’s 2018 remake of the horror classic Suspiria – will join the film at an uncertain time, as filming has been postponed indefinitely due to coronavirus.

It is considered a “high priority” by producers New Line Cinema though, according to Variety.

While Johnson’s exact role remains undisclosed, it has previously been revealed that Florence Pugh will play the lead in the psychological thriller: a 1950s housewife living in a utopian community in the California desert.

Booksmart co-writer Katie Silberman is writing a new draft of the script, while Wilde will also appear onscreen in a “key supporting role”.
