Entitled A24 Auctions, the initiative will see costumes, props, and set pieces from some of the company’s most iconic films go under the hammer, including the bejewelled Furby necklace from Uncut Gems, a skateboard from Jonah Hill’s coming-of-age movie Mid90s, and one of the handstitched doormats featured in the horror film Hereditary. Also up on offer is the flower dress worn by Florence Pugh in the Ari Aster film Midsommar. The dress took two months to make and is decorated with 10,000 hand-glued silk flowers. Elsewhere, a hoodie from the teen drama show Euphoria is also up for grabs. With 100 per cent of the proceeds going to four charities based in New York, the scheme is set to help what has become one of the worst affected areas to battle coronavirus. Seeking to relief some of the cities hardest-hit communities and front line workers, the production house will be working with the non-profit organisation FDNY Foundation, Food Bank For NYC, NYC Health + Hospitals, and Queens Community House. A24 has produced some of our most beloved and aesthetically recognisable films in recent years, so the auction is sure to help during these trying and uncertain times. Escape the algorithm!
