A new look at Keanu Reeves in the Bill & Ted reboot has arrived

Ted Logan and Bill Preston are back, and they’re still trying to save society with music

The new Bill & Ted reboot, Bill & Ted Face the Music, has long been in the works, and last year we got a first look at the upcoming film, with Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter reprising their respective roles as Ted Logan and Bill Preston.

Now, we’ve been given another insight into what to expect, in the form of another still.

The image shows Reeves and Winter at what looks like an outdoor wedding reception, with a pretty sizeable gong between them. (Like Chekhov’s gun, this gong is surely going to go off at some point in the film.)

It’s not exactly clear, however, how the still (or the gong) will fit into the overall narrative of the film, which – penned by the original writers, Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon – will feature the titular characters time traveling to try and find a song that will restore order to the universe.

As well as returning characters from earlier in the franchise, Bill & Ted Face the Music will feature Samara Weaving and Dazed 100er Brigette Lundy-Paine as the pair’s daughters. Kid Cudi will also feature, although his role is still unknown.

The film is slated to premiere August 21.
