The Drag Race season 12 contestants have been revealed

13 queens ‘pledge allegiance to the drag’

RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 is coming soon, building up with the announcement of 13 new queens in a star-spangled reveal video, which sees them “pledging allegiance to the drag”.

The new series promises “twisted, outrageous challenges”, “truly legendary” celebrity guest judges, and a cast of queens that is “the most talented we’ve ever had”, according to RuPaul in a new interview for EW.

That cast? Crystal Methyd, Heidi N Closet, Dahlia Sin, Aiden Zhane, Gigi Goode, Jackie Cox, Jaida Essence Hall, Nicky Doll, Rock M Sakura, Sherry Pie, Widow Von’Du, Jan, and Brita (formerly Brita filter).

Among the lineup are some firsts for the show as well, such as Rock M Sakura: the first “anime, J-pop, manga queen”.

Last year, RuPaul picked up his fourth consecutive Emmy for best host for his work on the show, and Drag Race UK, which came to an end back in November, exceeded expectations, with a second season incoming.

The twelfth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race begins February 28.
