From now on Dazed Digital will be making regular visits to fashion designers' studios and profiling the people who put in the hard graft for the designers - the talent behind the talent. To start off, I spoke to Caroline, one of the interns at Alexander Wang's studio in New York. Wang is about to launch a diffusion line as well as a shoe line so his staff are working harder than ever.

Dazed Digital: How did you start working for Alexander Wang?
Caroline: I am actually still in school studying but in my summer holidays last year I did an internship at Teen Vogue. The people at Teen Vogue knew I love Alexander Wang and put in a good word for me. I was very lucky!

DD: What attracted you to working with Alexander Wang?
Caroline: I love Alex’s style, I feel it’s very similar to mine and I can really relate to his clothes.

DD: What’s the best experience you have encountered so far?
Caroline: The environment here is really friendly. I am learning everything from fabrics to pattern cutting, to the final show – the whole process!

DD: What advice would you give to people who want to be in your position?
Caroline: I would say find the designer you like, the one you feel really passionate about and go for it. Contact them and be persistent until they give you a chance.

DD:  How would you describe your style?
Caroline: Casual, I love simple T’s and jeans.

DD: What is your favourite thing in your wardrobe?
Caroline: For my last birthday my parents got me a Chanel handbag! It’s the smallest one, in black, I can’t fit my purse in there but I love it sooo much!

DD:  Who are some of your favourite designers?
Caroline: Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Opening Ceremony and Rick Owens.

DD: What are some of your favourite vintage stores in NY?
Caroline: What Comes Around Goes Around is the best, followed by Beacon’s Closet in Brooklyn.

DD: What would be your ideal job?
Caroline: I would love to be the editor of a magazine and mix writing with styling.
