And while the event arrives at pretty much exactly the same time every year, there’s one big difference for 2026: they’ve headed up north to Manchester. On the location change, I’m quite enjoying the thought of Europe’s biggest fashion houses frantically diverting their couture shipments away from London upon finding this out, and the ensuing pile-up of Prada and Chanel at Manchester Piccadilly train station. Speaking of those houses, don’t think just because this is the Brits, the big players didn’t come out. After Chanel dominated the 2026 BAFTAs last weekend – outfitting Leading Actress winner Jessie Buckley, plus Maya Rudolph, Tilda Swinton and Gracie Abrams – Matthieu Blazy returns this weekend with undeniably two of the night’s biggest stars: Harry Styles and Rosalía. The Spanish singer wore a custom version of one of the white feathered looks from Blazy’s SS26 debut last September, while Styles wore an oversized pinstripe suit, once again making a strong case for a dedicated menswear line at Chanel. Elsewhere, multiple nominee Olivia Dean tapped Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for a custom Loewe column gown, former Little Mix singer Jade opted for Off-White by Ib Kamara, Sombr continued his stint as Alessandro Michele’s muse at Valentino, while Rosé returned to her trusty Saint Laurent gowns after hitting up the Grammys at the beginning of the month in Giambattista Valli. But this is the Brits after all, so we can’t just let all the Italian and French brands have all the fun. On the carpet, Skepta rocked up in a monogrammed leather jacket (and matching washbag) from his own label Mains; rising Lewisham rapper Jim Legxacy opted for a bright red sports jacket and shirt and tie designed by Martine Rose; while Lola Young was victorious in the niche fashion cred department, wearing a look from student designer Macy Grimshaw that just came of the catwalk at the Central Saint Martins graduate show.
