We originally got a sneak peak of the shoes back in March on Alessandro Michele’s AW25 runway, but today is the first proper look we’re getting of the new offering. The shoes are modelled on the Vans Authentic silhouette, originally introduced in 1966, and come in six colourways in men’s and women’s sizing. There’s a pair emblazoned with the phrase ‘I ❤︎ Vans’, a few different variations of Vans’ famous checkerboard, plus the pièce de résistance – one featuring Valentino’s Le Chat de la Maison motif, aka a pair covered in cats. As with most new collections, the announcement was also accompanied by a new campaign, however this time there was a note explaining it had been made using artificial intelligence. “The campaign video and images were generated using AI, based on original visual material captured during the Valentino Le Méta-Théâtre Des Intimités show,” said the house. “All featured imagery was used with the informed consent of the models here portrayed and of all the talents involved in the execution of the show.” What do you think of Valentino’s first AI-generated campaign?
