You have to make music for you, and then you hope that people find some of themselves in it.” What else can bring you comfort – partying with friends? Table football? That was the idea last week, when Dazed Club and HEYDUDE brought a one-night-only party to Glasgow, to celebrate its latest campaign. If you didn’t manage to make it along, you can read about everything that went down below. HEYDUDE HEADED TO LEWIS CAPALDI’S HOMETOWN Dazed Club Where better to celebrate the new campaign starring the singer than Wunderbar, a local and down-to-earth favourite in his home city, and host to the best of its culture? Music, retro arcade games, a pop-up crazy golf course, and more were on offer at the venue, which sits right at Glasgow’s heart. SPEAKING OF THE MUSIC... Dazed Club A hand-picked line-up of emerging artists soundtracked the night, keeping it true to Capaldi’s musical roots. Spanning a range of genres, the crowd enjoyed sets from Laura Jade, rising Scottish pop artist Emilie Leslie, Glaswegian singer Pat Hamilton, and Middlesbrough’s Finn Forster. To top things off, Woody Cook also took to the stage to wrap up the night with an energetic headline DJ set. AND AT THE CAPALDI BAR... Dazed Club Yes, you heard it right: a custom-built Capaldi bar was serving up mixes based on the singer’s own go-to favourites. On the food side of things, the pizza spot Frank’s – another local icon – served up some fun and limited-edition slices, including ‘Before You Dough’ and ‘The Wee Spicy One’. HEYDUDE’S SHOES WERE ALSO VERY MUCH IN ATTENDANCE Dazed Club After all, that’s what everyone was there for... Every guest came away with a pair of HEYDUDE’s signature shoes, customised live by the illustrator Josh Parkin, who was tasked with turning each into a work of wearable art. ICYMI, HEYDUDE shoes are already well on the way to becoming a go-to for easy, everyday style, designed to be worn everywhere from the day-to-day to festival season. In the brand’s latest short film, Capaldi wears the Wally Stretch Sox, from the brand’s much-loved Wally and Wendy range. Take a look below. Escape the algorithm!
