This summer, Bisoye Babalola’s Holiday Club initiative will return for its fifth consecutive year, running for three weeks from August 4. Its purpose? To help level the playing field and nurture emerging talents by providing expert workshops as well as the opportunity to contribute to the annual Holiday Club magazine.

The charity brings together industry experts from journalism, photography, set design, post-production, styling and graphic design, who will be available to share their wisdom with budding creatives. For the 2025 edition, the summer school has even partnered with Amelia Dimoldenburg and Dimz Inc (Amelia famously received one of the lowest grades in her class at Central Saint Martins, but went on to be one of the most successful alumni from the course).

Though Holiday Club will go ahead again this summer, Babalola is keen to note that it almost didn’t, due to the lack of funding and support for creative industries. “Each year we struggle to obtain any funding to do the work,” she explains. “If we do get funding, it’s a very small amount, which means we often use our personal funds and the kindness of others to fill in the gaps.” To help support the charity, you can get in touch with Babalola or apply to be a part of this year’s Holiday Club here

It was announced that Belgian designer Meryll Rogge will be the new creative director of Marni, and Balenciaga paid for Nicole Kidman’s hotel room upgrade (kind of). Here’s everything else you missed this week…
