Since the advent of Twitter and Instagram in the early 2010s, what used to be fervent communities of dedicated admirers became rabid legions of maniacal zealots, threatening to leak your address and burn your house down if your reaction to a pop song didn’t fall in line. Fandom infiltrated fashion too, with groups of stan fiercely dedicated to designers, labels, and models – so who better to emblemise the notion than Alex Consani? The US model collected a brigade of fans on TikTok before she’d even booked her first catwalk show (Tom Ford SS22, for those keeping track) and, because of that, covers ALL-IN eighth issue, ‘Fan Fiction’. ALL-IN – the magazine-turned-fashion-brand-that’s-still-a-magazine – launched No. 8 in the French capital during Paris Fashion Week men’s, and cover star Consani was the guest of honour at the release party-cum-gallery-view. With the model’s name on the invite, those aforementioned fans were just around the corner, and Dazed’s video editor Vasco Oliveira wasn’t far behind, snapping all the best fits from the event. With the Avenue de la République transformed into some sort of quasi-catwalk, styles ranged from camouflage ballerina with spikes protruding from their heel, a cami top and a straw boater to protect from the sweltering Paris sun, and some dedicated proponents of the big pants, little top doctrine. One woman displayed her fashion fandom in an exuberant way, wearing a green checked skirt, double layered camis, an undulous purple velvet pillarbox hat from Prada AW24, plus a baguette-shaped East West bag from Vaquera. Photography Vasco Oliveira Elsewhere, another guest went for a Mowalola tank top with a Balenciaga Le Cagole slung over their shoulder, a fashion model wore a jaunty captain’s hat, slogan tees were back yet again, with this one declaring ‘Sextape available’, while Consani herself was of course in ALL-IN, an 80s-coded ruched top and oversized pearls, signatures the brand has become known for. Founded by Benjamin Barron in 2015, ALL-IN started life as a magazine but quickly morphed into a fashion brand after Barron met designer Bror August Vestbø at the first issue’s launch party. Though the pair’s cool girl clobber quickly gained cult status after showing at NYFW SS19, the magazine continued just as strong, publishing sporadically and garnering critical acclaim. This newly released fandom issue – the first one since May 2024’s Lily-Rose Depp cover – features Consani shot by Lengua and styled by Danny Reed, Caroline Polachek and Arca, both lensed by Lengua too, plus contributions from Sharna Osborne, Lotta Volkova, Haley Wollens and Briana Capozzi.
