Go behind the scenes on Dazed’s sci-fi Oakley shoot

For the summer 2025 issue, photographer Reece Owen Sweeney took us to 2075 – here’s how it all came together

We’ve always known that the citizens of the future will shield their eyes with Oakley sunglasses. Now, we even know exactly what that future will look like, courtesy of Reece Owen Sweeney’s interstellar Oakley shoot in the summer 2025 issue of Dazed. Beaming us forward to the year 2075, the shoot drops a bunch of Oakley fans in a psychedelic sci-fi landscape populated by birds, butterflies, and electricity pylons (because life isn’t getting any less power-intensive).

Unfortunately, the budget didn’t quite stretch to a time machine, so the shoot employs a mix of studio photography and digital wizardry. Want to see how it’s done? You’re in luck! You can watch it all come together in the behind-the-scenes film below.
