Inside Miu Miu’s London store reopening feat. Little Simz

From a cocktail reception unveiling the store to a dinner and show headlined by Little Simz, here is everything that went down

It’s easy to spot a Miu Miu girl in a big city. Donning a pleated skirt, an air of pensiveness, wired headphones, and a pocketbook subtly peeking out from an Aventure Nappa leather bag, the aesthetic synonymous with the Italian brand has consistently captivated women across generations globally. Lucky for those bookish, fashion girls roaming around London, Miu Miu has given them a newly renovated home via its highly anticipated reopening of its New Bond Street flagship store.

Designed to reflect the brand’s celebration of “cultural exchange, conversation and thoughtful community” – think: Literary Club, Women’s Tales and Summer Reads – the space is doused in pastel colours with pops of neon colour, soft lighting and sumptuous furnishings. Last Thursday night (June 12), to celebrate the opening, the brand hosted a cocktail reception at the store followed by dinner and an all-out party in an iconic London venue.

For those who were not in attendance, worry not, below we broke down everything that took place on the night.

IT STARTED WITH DRINKS AT THE STORE

The night began at the newly unveiled store, where guests previewed the latest Miu Miu Upcycled by Catherine Martin collection – an offering of transformed vintage pieces made by the Great Gatsby and Elvis costume designer herself.

FOLLOWED BY A STAR-STUDDED PRIVATE DINNER

Afterwards, the crowd travelled in Miu Miu taxis to The House of KOKO for an intimate dinner. The guest list read like the brand’s fashion week front row. In attendance were the likes of Sydney Sweeney, Emma Corrin, Kai-Isaiah Jamal, Cailee Spaeny, Daisy Ridley, Sebastian Croft, and recent Dazed cover star Luther Ford.

THE NIGHT ENDED WITH A PARTY

The main event took place at the recently renovated KOKO in Camden. Headlined by Little Simz, fans and Miu Miu ambassadors came together to celebrate with other sets from Obongjayar, OTG, and Taylah Elaine.
