Following her debut hosting at SNL, the British musician held a second performance with H&M earlier this week, wrapping up the live performance element of its global event series. Wearing a custom H&M look, reminiscent of her first H&M performance back in September, Charli took to the stage in a look inspired by the Holiday collection. She announced the show on social media just half an hour before it happened. “Charli xcx is a special friend of H&M,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson of H&M. “Her spirit of innovation and inclusivity is exactly in step with our values. We are so lucky that she has been a central part of this exciting tour, kicking off the events with a special performance in London, and now wrapping things up with this already-legendary Times Square set.” Throughout the set, the iconic screens of Times Square featured special visuals by Maximo Recio and Weirdcore. Below we break down what happened on the evening. IT TOOK PLACE IN THE HEART OF THE CITY Photography Elvin Abril It is estimated that between 50 to 60 million people visit Times Square, which means 330,000 people a day and 13,750 an hour. So it is more than likely among the crowd of people in neon green clothes, there was a child who 15 years from now will have a very iconic throwback Thursday picture to post from their first trip to New York City. Taking place on the stage at Times Square, Charli took over the billboards as she performed a short 15-minute set of her hit songs “360”, “Von Dutch”, “Apple” and “Guess (Remix)”. H&M&New York – Charli xcx by Elvin Abril SOME FAMILIAR FACES WERE THE APPLE CUTIES Courtesy of H&M Throughout the Sweat Tour, when Charli would perform “Apple” the camera crew would find what she called the “cuties out there” to do the viral TikTok dance. From strangers to friends and influencers everyone got their chance on tour. The performance in Times Square was no different, except this time round the camera panned to none other than Alex Consani, Julia Fox, Richie Shazam and H&M City host Amelia Gray. THERE WAS A STAR-STUDDED AFTERPARTY Courtesy of H&M With music by DJ Pee .Wee, AKA Anderson Paak, Papi Juice and k.tea, the performance was followed by an afterparty at The Hotel Chelsea. Spotted in the crowd were Charli xcx, Lila Moss, Alex Consani, Julia Fox, Richie Shazam, Amelia Gray, Delilah Belle Hamlin, Elsa Hosk, Irina Shayk, Aquaria, Iris Law, Tyrell Hampton, Shygirl, Aidan Zamiri, Stella Jones, Olivia Neill, Terrence O'Connor, Hari Nef, Benito Skinner and Mimi Xu. Other notable guests included Leeanna Mosely Williams, Matthew Weinberger, Talia Goddess, Sienna King, Manny Omitto, Angel Asuncion, Diamante, Amanda Hercules, Milan Wheaton, Molly Johnson, Vonnie Mack and Jeffery Armani.
