Luckily, she’s got a knack for piecing together the perfect look. In the latest episode of our Off the Rails series, watch how the London-based model and actress incorporates Gap pieces into her everyday style and her London Fashion Week looks. Deba has been making waves in fashion for a while now, landing a spot on the Dazed 100 back in 2020, as a campaigner for inclusivity in an industry obsessed with Eurocentric beauty standards. “I am a model and activist who defies Western beauty standards by being as unapologetically Kurdish as I can,” she said at the time. “I’m 5’5”, I have a unibrow, and a lot to say.” Alongside speaking out on racial equality and difficult topics such as FGM, Deba has walked for the likes of Vetements and Vivienne Westwood, and starred in Heaven campaigns. In 2023, she also joined the cast of Luna Carmoon’s teen drama Hoard, followed swiftly by a leading role in Sasha Nathwani’s Last Swim, which premiered at this year’s Berlinale. More than anything, though, you’re probably familiar with Deba’s style, which is inextricably tied to memories of Gap – an affordable, stylish icon of British shopping since childhood. In this Gap-exclusive Off the Rails, Deba assembles a range of versatile looks, from double denim destined for LFW afterparties to a cutesy post-yoga ensemble complete with pink ballet flats and a miniscule bag in bright purple. When it comes to attending shows during London Fashion Week, Deba’s layering a button-up skirt with statement silver jewellery and a cinched denim jacket. Iconic, elegant, and a little bit sexy, the look is sure to get her papped by street-style photographers. Watch Deba dig deep into her personal style with Gap in this latest episode of Off the Rails. Back in August, Dazed also linked up with Troye Sivan to dig deeper into Gap’s upbeat autumn/winter campaign, ‘Get Loose’. “This fall, we are celebrating Gap’s 55-year heritage in denim with a collection of loose styles that allow for self-expression,“ said Mark Breitbard, President and CEO of Gap, speaking on the collection. Comfortable, oversized garments such as the women’s Baggy, Extra Baggy, and Horseshoe Jeans, alongside the men’s ’90s Loose Jean, Baggy Jean, 90s Loose Cargo Jean, and Denim Cargos give wearers the chance to move freely while letting loose. Elsewhere, the classic Gap staples are back. Think classic tees, shirts, hoodies and of course different seasonal washes of denim. Find the collection at Gap.co.uk and IRL Gap stores.
