Yet over the last month, the grey clouds and torrential rain have proved that it was sadly no joke at all. Resisting the temptation of hibernating indoors, on Thursday (July 11) night, London-based brand Self-Portrait showed that the energy of summer can live on regardless of the forecast. Hosted at The Roof Gardens in Kensington, the party celebrated Self-Portrait’s community as well as the launch of its very first jewellery collection. From DJ sets and birthday celebrations to a pop-up tattoo parlour and special kiosk, guests enjoyed a unique Self-Portrait experience. “Celebrating with our friends and communities has always brought us a lot of joy – it’s a chance to collectively honour what makes London so special and allows us to bring together all of the people that mean so much to us,” said Han Chong, founder and creative director of Self-Portrait. “Every year we try to evolve our Summer Party to capture the spirit of the moment and tonight was a testament to why we started self-portrait in the first place; our aim being to make people feel relaxed, and like the best versions of themselves, and above all else, to have fun!” Below we broke down what went down at the party.
