Doja Cat turned the Met Gala into a wet t-shirt competition

For the last couple of days, Doja Cat has been darting about New York City hand in hand with Guram Gvasalia.

On Saturday, the rapper and Vetements boss scurried through Times Square as a gaggle of iPhones followed them, the designer swamped in his signature outsized garments and Doja in nothing but a cling-film two-piece.

On Sunday night, the pair then headed to a pre-Met Gala party, with Doja decked out in a head-to-toe leather bin bag and Guram opting for more of his slouchy duds. And now the big night is here, and the brand new besties have just left the hotel in a drenched, floor-length t-shirt that looked like she’d accidentally left it on the bathroom floor.

Completing the look was make-up courtesy of industry legend Pat McGrath, who painted mascara tears down her face like she’d been crying her eyes out pre-event – which is a total mood, if you want my opinion.

Though brother Demna Gvasalia is considered fashion’s biggest troll by some Balenciaga naysayers, Guram has got to take the crown. Last season, the designer ripped off a bunch of looks by Demna, and even sent a t-shirt declaring himself “Not Mom’s Favorite” down the runway for AW24. And whether you love it or hate it, this dripping wet look is sure to score him some column inches come tomorrow.
