What went down at Dazed x Michael Kors’ blowout Soho party

Last month, Michael Kors dropped a glamorous, Mert Alas-shot campaign for spring 2024. The highlight? Its new Colby shoulder bag, in an eye-catching black-and-white zebra print. Now, to celebrate the launch, the label has joined forces with Dazed to host a blowout party in London, featuring a stacked guestlist, iconic performances, and custom interior design that echoed the creative direction behind the SS24 campaign.

MICHAEL KORS AND DAZED REIMAGINED THE BOX IN SOHO

Hosted at the iconic London nightlife venue The Box, the party brought a bit of Michael Kors’ latest campaign to life, courtesy of a custom chrome bar and DJ booth, and bespoke neon signage throughout the club. Elsewhere, there were branded fly posters and floor-to-ceiling campaign imagery (just in case you somehow forgot your reason for being there).

BREE RUNWAY HEADLINED THE NIGHT

Michael Kors’ Colby bag might technically have been the star of the show, but competition was pretty hot with a special live performance from the London singer, songwriter, and rapper Bree Runway. DJ sets from a roster of London’s top female talent – namely, Kim Turnbull, Tyson McVey, Emma Korantema, and Taylah Elaine – also kept guests dancing into the night.

This being a Dazed party, you won’t be surprised to hear that a bunch of London’s top talent and most stylish, vibrant personalities were on the guestlist. Think: Bimini, Aitch, Munroe Bergdorf, Kai-Isaiah Jamal, Rina Lipa, Charli Howard, A Sai Ta, Michaela Stark, Stephen Isaac-Wilson, Gareth Wrighton, K Bailey Obazee, Say Now, Pam Hughes, Iggy London, and many more.

BUT, BACK TO THE COLBY BAG

Michael Kors’ new shoulder bag was the driving force behind the party’s genesis, after all. Unveiled for spring 2024, the Colby is billed as a wearable blend of modern chic and pragmatic detailing. Coming in a range of luxe materials, including neoprene, soft calf hair, and buttery leather – and in a whole spectrum of colourways, from vibrant neons to practical neutrals – the bag is sized to travel light, with utilitarian touches like dual front pockets and a distinctive front buckle.
