The musician had curated three nights of music at the Bourse de Commerce - Pinault Collection, and on the final night took to the decks wearing a barely-there halter dress and two swinging pigtails. After storming through a set of frenetic bangers under the museum’s impressive painted Rotunda, Arca then invited none other than Björk on stage for a surprise set – at least we think it was her. The enigmatic Icelandic songbird had turned up to the club in fresh-off-the-runway Rick Owens, a rubber cage that encased her so completely she was practically unrecognisable. This was, until, she got on the decks to deliver an unmistakable set, and we instantly knew it was her. After playing some edits of Arca tracks like “El Alma Que Te Trajo” – and a remix of her own Rosalía-assisted song “Oral” – Björk and Arca embraced at the end of the show, the crowd losing it as the two musicians fawned over one another. Björk’s scene-stealing outfit only premiered on the runway four days before her B2B with Arca, one of the closing looks of Rick Owens’ second Porterville show. The outfit looked as if it was made out of a bunch of old bike tyres, but on closer inspection the tubes were covered in sequins and glistened as they were hit by the club’s strobe lights. But Björk’s decision to wear a full Rick look comes as no surprise – the singer has a history of wearing his custom pieces for her live shows, and Owens’ SS24 collection was entirely inspired by the singer after he attended one of her shows. It’s not a shock, then, that Owens himself came down to see Björk perform, arriving with Michèle Lamy and going berserk in the crowd as she played.
