My barn, my style rules: photos of the crowd at horsegiirL’s Hayfever rave

The glossy-maned DJ and producer landed at London’s The Cause to throw a blowout barnyard party, so we went down and captured all the looks

German DJ and producer horsegiirL has been one of the runaway [or should that be galloped away] musical success stories of 2023, with her track “My Barn, My Rules” blasting out at raves up and down the full stretch of the UK this summer [to the extent that the equine icon herself is sick and tired of hearing it].

Fans, on the other hand, are still completely besotting with her boingy, berserk sets, which blend bouncy hyperpop, 00s Eurotrash bangers, gabber and techno – think Britney Spears’ “Toxic” turned up to 11 to become a donk head-melter, and NeYo’s “Closer” transformed from Capital FM fare to something that could definitely be played on the main floor in Berghain.

After appearances at the sophomore outing of Maiden Voyage – a festival of the summer, and one to definitely secure tickets for in 2024 – as well as a headlining slot at a mega Jaded London party during the SS24 fashion season, last week, horsegiirL was back in the British capital with her inaugural Hayfever rave. Taking over sweaty warehouse space The Cause, the night was as raucous and boisterous as you’d expect – with the crowd turning out in looks to match.
