The shoots, which are simply named ‘Lovisa’, see the rising curve model depicted as a powerful femdom who rules over a troupe of willing subs, drawing inspiration from legendary NSFW works by Japanese erotic artist Namio Harukawa. Across three installations, Lager bathes her tiny men, ties them up in Shibari ropes, or otherwise uses their faces as a comfortable seat, all while decked out in silky lingerie and robes. Now, the fourth instalment of the ongoing series has landed, and this time around, Lager has evolved into the ultimate femdom heroine. “The men have become little demons that she rules over – some are cute, some are horny little devils,” explains Lamandé of the photographs. “There is still a very sexual energy throughout, but she’s no longer involved in it.” Instead, Lager kicks back and relaxes as her naughty minions wreak havoc, shoving cucumbers down each other's throats, cavorting in steam rooms, and play fighting amongst themselves. The whole thing takes on a nightmarish, fantastical quality, which is heavily influenced by another Japanese erotic artist, this time in the form of Toshio Saeki. “There’s something almost motherly about [Lager] at this point – she even grounds one of the men for tying his friend up,” says Lamandé. “She has full control, and there’s something really endearing about the little men going about their thing, knowing she has full authority.” A real labour of love, the developing series is a truly personal project based on a close-knit community of creatives coming together to build something challenging and beautiful and fun, and will go on until it reaches its natural conclusion – perhaps in the form of a hinted-at book amalgamating all photographs so far.
