Nobbled meteorites, a chunk of aluminium, a crop circle: photographer Cameron Ugbodu and stylist Gloria Lyare situated Fear of God’s SS23 collection within an extraterrestrial hinterland. The models don’t quite look like time travellers or astronauts or aliens, but future aesthetes that have settled on some scorched planet. There are stone-scraping skirts and swollen bombers alongside shell jackets and trench coats that look as though they’ve been turned inside-out and upside-down for enhanced protection. At the time of its release, Jerry Lorenzo described the collection as “transcending space, time, and trends,” which is a theme Ugbodu and Iyare have sustained in the latest edition of Dazed.
