Tommy Cash says Joyeux Noël... with a vibrator

It’s a present of actual use

A certain festive period is just around the corner and I, for one, cannot wait. The warmth of your trotters near an open fire, “Stay Another Day” by East 17 playing on the radio, and the streets adorned with lights and pre-manufactured snow. Most importantly, though, it’s a time for giving back – reminding the most important people in your life just how much they mean to you by exchanging gifts that neither parties particularly want.

In case you were stuck on what to buy a certain someone – or yourself – this year, look no further than what is almost definitely the weirdest collaborative piece of the year: the TOMM¥ €A$H x Kappa vibrator. Though it may sound like the product of a random name generator, the vibrator is real and set to be released on December 1 – because nothing says Happy Christmas (or any secular holiday) like waking up to the sound of carols and the faint buzz of a sex toy.

But of course, this is not the first time a a clothing brand has forayed into the sex toy business – back in 2020 Christopher Kane released a lovely little sexessory as a part of their More Joy collection. Milan-based label Sunnei were also set on spicing up the office accessory world at the beginning of last year with a line of pleasure objects” passed off as paperweights. In more recent memory, Glenn Martens went sex toy crazy, sending a butt-plug out as an invite to the SS23 Diesel show.

TOMM¥ €A$H is no stranger to an unconventional collaboration. Back in March 2021 he joined forces with adidas to produce the longest shoe in the world, and linked up with Maison Margiela to produce a pair of ‘loafers’ made from bread and a pack of instant noodles. Given the context, both Cash and the sportswear giant coming together to create a vibrator is not overly surprising. It’s 2022, what the hell else were they going to do – release a clothing line? Boring!
